Update: The cinematic is finally complete! I've added 3 more shots to truly bring this piece to the next level. Some of the sound effects were made by me, while others were royalty free. The Music is royalty free as well.
The "Procedural Ice Watch" first started as a school project for my Procedural Animation class in the beginning of this year. Over the summer and up until now, I've been refining this piece to the highest quality possible. The "Procedural Ice Watch" is a futuristic ice-powered watch that can be customized easily using Houdini and its procedural functions. I've created various controls to make a near infinite amount of design combinations, while still balancing between artistic direction and randomness. All the modelling, texturing, lighting, rendering, etc., was done only using Houdini. As a beginner to the software, it was a quite a struggle to adapt, but I'm really glad I learned it. This is my first "tech arts" piece uploaded to my portfolio and it certainly won't be the last. I believe Houdini is my next stepping stone to becoming a better artist and I plan to integrate proceduralism into some of my future environments from now on. Hope you enjoy!
